On March 13, 2024, join Tula and the Hakai Institute for our Open House at the new Hakai offices in Victoria (1002 Wharf Street).
March 8th, 2024
Open House: Tula Foundation / Hakai Institute
It’s a great opportunity to get to know us and see what we do on the British Columbia coast and beyond. From diving into BC’s kelp forests to taking glacial ice cores from Mount Waddington, from citizen scientists tracking Dungeness crab larvae to archaeologists uncovering 13,000-year-old footprints, the work of Tula and Hakai is centered on collaborative science and technology along the coastal margins.
The Open House will showcase work from divisions of Tula including the Hakai Institute, Hakai Magazine, and the Ocean Decade Collaborative Center for the Northeast Pacific.
We will also highlight the Canadian Integrated Ocean Observing System (CIOOS Pacific) and Hakai’s Sentinels of Change project, among others.
There will be opportunities for engagement, collaboration, hands-on experience with the science and technology we use at Tula and Hakai, and networking with a variety of fascinating people from throughout the Salish Sea region.
The open house runs from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We look forward to seeing you there!
